How do I set my FTP?
You enter your FTP during setup, and you can change it any time in Settings › FTP. Not sure what it is? Ride the free Ramp Test — when you finish, YourIntervals suggests a new FTP from your result.
What do I need to ride?
An iPhone with iOS 17 or later and a Bluetooth smart trainer that supports FTMS with ERG control. A heart-rate sensor is optional. You can also ride any workout without a trainer — the app then shows targets only and doesn't control resistance.
Is there an iPad, Apple Watch or Android version?
Not at the moment. YourIntervals is built for iPhone.
Trainer & sensors
My trainer doesn't show up
- Make sure the trainer is powered and not connected to another app (Zwift, Wahoo, TrainerRoad, a bike computer…). Most trainers accept only one controlling connection.
- Allow Bluetooth for YourIntervals in iOS Settings › YourIntervals.
- Pedal briefly to wake the trainer, then open Settings › Smart trainer again.
- Update the trainer's firmware with the manufacturer's app — some trainers only enable FTMS after an update.
“Control not permitted” or resistance doesn't change
Another app is holding control of the trainer. Close that app (or disconnect it in your bike computer's sensor settings), then tap Retry. Settings › Connection diagnostics shows whether your trainer supports target power and whether each command was acknowledged.
What happens if my trainer disconnects mid-ride?
The workout clock is put on hold with a clear warning. YourIntervals reconnects automatically, takes control again and resends the current target — then the workout continues where it stopped.
How do I connect a heart-rate monitor?
Put on your strap (or enable heart-rate broadcast on your watch), then choose it under Settings › Heart-rate sensor or on the connection screen before a ride.
During a ride
The targets feel too hard or too easy
Use the − / + intensity controls in the player to scale every target from 50 % to 150 % instantly. If workouts feel off repeatedly, update your FTP — see Your FTP is a guide, not a verdict.
Why does resistance get very heavy when I slow down?
That's ERG mode: the trainer holds the target power regardless of cadence, so a lower cadence means more resistance. Keep a steady cadence around 85–95 rpm. More in How ERG mode works.
The app was closed during a ride
Your session is saved every 15 seconds. The next time you open YourIntervals you can resume, save or discard the interrupted ride.
Rides, export & Strava
How do I export a ride?
Open the ride in History and tap Export FIT (Pro). The FIT file contains power, cadence, heart rate, speed and laps, and can be shared to Garmin Connect, TrainingPeaks, intervals.icu, Files or any app.
Strava upload failed
Check your internet connection and try “Upload to Strava” on the ride again. If it keeps failing, disconnect and reconnect Strava in Settings › Strava. Rides that Strava already has are reported as duplicates and not uploaded twice.
How do I import a .zwo workout?
Tap + on the Workouts screen and choose Import ZWO File (Pro). Imported workouts can be edited like your own.
Purchases
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Open Settings › Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple ID you used to buy Pro.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Privacy & data
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone only — your FTP, settings, custom workouts and ride history never leave the device unless you export or upload a ride. There's no account and no server. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual rides or workouts in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. Anonymous analytics (only if you opted in) can be switched off in Settings › Privacy at any time.
